"It
is my passion to help my clients to connect more deeply and
authentically to themselves, remove obstacles and create the
life they envision."
I hold a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. Transpersonal Psychology blends traditional counseling and psychotherapeutic techniques with a focus on the spiritual aspects of human growth and potential.
In addition to
my work as a therapist I also teach mindfulness meditation classes
and work as a teaching assistant in meditation and yoga classes
for the Graduate School of Psychology at Naropa University.
My therapeutic
style is an integrative blend of mindfulness-based interventions,
body-centered psychotherapy and traditional talk therapy. I am also
trained in EMDR for trauma resolution.
I see the work
on self as a creative process that allows one to heal and relinquish
past wounding and obstacles. I
primarily work with internal awareness combined with teaching specific
skills to stimulate healing and change.
Working with awareness
in the body allows one to make subtle and powerful shifts in your
life working from inside out. This awareness combined with practical
skills, and clear goals can help you to surmount obstacles and live
the life you want.
My counseling practice
is deeply inspired by my own spiritual practice which consists of
a daily Buddhist sitting meditation practice for the past 11 years,
teaching mindfulness meditation and frequent retreats in the Theravadan
Buddhist tradition, and the practice of hatha yoga.
